Detention of former Georgian military police chief not confirmed by any official agency None of the relevant official agencies in Ukraine have been informed about the detention of former Georgian military police chief Megis Kardava at this stage.

Interpressnews has contacted several official agencies in Ukraine, including the Border Agency and the Prosecutor General's Office, where the Georgian citizen's arrest has not been confirmed. The Embassy of Georgia in Ukraine does not have official information either. Georgian Ambassador to Ukraine Gela Dumbadze told InterpressNews that he learned about the detention from the media.

Megis Kardava is wanted by the Interpol red circular. He has been sentenced to 9 years in absentia.
