None of Ukrainian official agencies confirm detention of former military police head Megis Kardava No Ukrainian official agencies have confirmed detention of Georgia’s former military police head Megis Kardava.

InterPressNews has contacted with several Ukrainian official agencies including border service and Prosecutor General but they did not confirm the fact of detention.

Georgia’s Embassy to Ukraine has not got any official information about it. As Georgia’s Ambassador to Ukraine Gela Dumbadze has told IPN, he was informed about Megis Kardava’s detention via media.

Megis Kardava’s Georgian lawyer Malkhaz Velijanashvili also as not received any information.

Megis Kardava is on Interpol’s wanted list. Earlier he was sentenced to 9 years in jail in absentia.
