 Megis Kardava was arrested in his house in Ukraine, says lawyer A lawyer of former Chief of the Georgian Military Police, Megis Kardava, has elaborated on the details of Kardava’s detention in his conversation with InterpressNews.

According to Mikheil Lototsky, Kardava was not detained not at the border in Ukraine but in the village of Zadnestriansky, where he had rented a house.

"As neighbors said, his wife was also used to visit him. His detention took place in his house. He was detained at 2:00 am on November 1. The reason for the arrest was his extradition," Kardava's Ukrainian lawyer told InterPressNews.

According to him, if the court agrees to extradite Kardava to Georgia, they will appeal against the decision.

He added that Kardava was sentenced to 40 days' extradition detention and is in the Ivano-Frankovsky isolator.
