Venice Commission Vice President – Constitutional Court pressured It is clear that the Constitutional Court is pressured by internal and external forces, - Venice Commission Vice President Herdis Thorgeirsdottir has said.

According to him it is very important judges to be independent and free from pressure.

‘The Venice Commission unanimously declares that generally judges should be independent in their business as the Constitutional Court is the supreme judiciary institution and protects human rights and constitutions of the countries. Therefore we think it is of utmost importance judges to be independent and free from political pressure,’ she has remarked.
