Georgia-Estonia presidents agree on coordinated steps to prepare for NATO and Eastern Partnership summits The President of Georgia, H.E. Giorgi Margvelashvili has held a face-to-face meeting with the President of the Republic of Estonia, H.E. Kersti Kaljulaid, - Georgia’s Presidential Administration has reported.

The two presidents have spoken about Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations. President Margvelashvili has thanked his counterpart for paying a visit to Georgia and underscored that this visit coincides with the 25th anniversary of Georgia-Estonia diplomatic relations.

According to President Margvelashvili, this visit is of utmost importance as Estonia currently holds the presidency of the Council of the European Union. He has shown gratitude to President Kaljulaid for advocating and supporting Georgia in the international arena.

As President Margvelashvili has noted, President Kaljulaid actively raises the topic of Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity while addressing all relevant forums.

As noted at the meeting, Estonia contributes to advancing Georgia-EU relations as the EU presidency country.

At the meeting, Georgia's Euro-Atlantic integration process has also been discussed. As stated, NATO Summit of 2018 will be a great opportunity for Georgia to demonstrate the country’s political progress in NATO integration process.

The parties have come up with concrete and coordinated steps to prepare for NATO and Eastern Partnership summits. Georgia contributes to protection of global peace and security. Currently, the country is involved in various peacekeeping missions.

According to President Margvelashvili, Georgia pays special attention to NATO-Georgia high-level meetings, as they clearly show NATO’s strong political support of Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic integration, - Georgia’s Presidential Administration says.
