Georgian diplomacy is involved in a very difficult battle, where our opponent is Russia - President
13:41 03-11-2017
Georgian diplomacy is involved in a very difficult battle, where our opponent is Russia - President President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili congratulates Georgian diplomats on the professional holiday. According to the statement of the President, Georgia has achieved many international successes since the restoration of statehood, which is the result of the efforts of the Georgian diplomacy.

"Congratulations on the day of Georgian diplomacy. This date is special for Georgian statehood, because the independent foreign policy is directly related to the country's sovereignty.

Since the restoration of the statehood, our country has achieved many international successes, which is the result of the efforts of the Georgian diplomacy.

The contribution of Georgian diplomacy is immeasurable to all successes - visa-free travel and free trade with the European Union, Association Agreement, new international cooperation agreements and projects.

We were able to become not only a full-fledged member of the international community, but the most important geopolitical functioning state that connects people, regions and continents to each other.

“In order to protect the sovereignty of the country, Georgian diplomacy is involved in a very difficult battle, where our opponent is a country with strong diplomatic traditions - the Russian Federation. We have achieved impressive success in this difficult fight: consolidated efforts and support from our international partners prevented recognition of the occupied territories as independent states. In addition, the number of countries that support the resolution on the unconditional and dignified return of IDPs and refugees to their homes is increasing annually.

The struggle for our statehood continues. De-occupation, restoration of territorial integrity, European and Euro-Atlantic integration, strengthening and welfare of our homeland are the main tasks of our diplomacy”, says the statement.
