 Interior Ministry denies that witness of Nutsubidze incident was asked question about use of psychotropic drugs by deceased detainee The Ministry of Internal Affairs does not confirm that one of the eyewitnesses of the incident occurred on Nutsubidze Street was asked a question by the Ministry’s journalist about the use of psychotropic drugs or alcohol by the person that died during the incident.

As InterPressNews was told by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the respondent began to talk about this issue himself.

"The interview with this citizen was recorded in a continuous manner. The video camera was not turned off even at the moment when the respondent responded to a phone call. And the video shows that the respondent started to talk about this topic himself. We are ready the video to be examined in order to establish its authenticity and continuity”, InterPressNews was told by the Ministry.

Nodar Shanidze, one of the witnesses of the incident on Nutsubidze street, said today that he was asked a question about whether Paata Pavliashvili was taking psychotropic medicines. “When I gave an interview to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, they asked me about psychotropic medicines and I answered them," said Nodar Shanidze.
