Minister of Foreign Affairs welcomes European Commission’s positive report I welcome the very positive report published by the European Commission, which concerns the implementation of the Association Agreement and the reforms implemented in the course of European integration for one year and, - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Mikheil Janelidze said.

He said this was truly a great success for the government and the reforms implemented in absolutely every direction.

"Last year was really special with its results on the way to Georgia's European integration. As you know, Georgia received visa liberalization and we joined the energy union, we signed an agreement with Europe and actively engaged in programs that contribute to more cooperation in the field of education, culture, innovations. This year our entrepreneurs were able to export new products to the EU market. The EU has become our main, largest trading partner. Our sectoral reforms were very positively evaluated. It is very important that the reforms. It is also very important that the fundamental constitutional reform was positively assessed by the Venice Commission. Georgia's recent democratic elections were also positively evaluated", - said the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.

In addition, Mikheil Janelidze welcomed the statements of EU High Commissioner Federica Mogherini and European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy Johannes, which emphasize Georgia's progress in the implementation of the Association Agreement. According to the Minister, this kind of positive report is especially important ahead of the Eastern Partnership Summit.
