Governmental Administration confirms Eduard Shevardnadze's largest role in unification of Germany The Governmental Administration shares the content of the letter of Eduard Shevardnadze's family and confirms his largest role in the historic event of unification of Germany, - says the statement of the Georgian Governmental Administration’s press service.

"We would like to clarify that on November 9, the exhibition within the framework of the opening of the fragment of the Berlin Wall was organized by the Communication Department of the Government of Georgia and that the Embassy and the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany were not involved in the preparation of the event. The Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany attended the event as an invited guest.

We want to explain that only the fragments of the Berlin Wall will permanently remain on the European Square, while the exhibition was organized only for the evening of 9 November.

The Governmental Administration shares the content of the letter of Eduard Shevardnadze's family and confirms his largest role in the historic event of unification of Germany," says the statement of the press service.

Former Georgian President Eduard Shevardnadze's grandchildren have addressed the German ambassador to Georgia with a letter, in which they expressed regret over the fact that Eduard Shevardnadze's photos were not exhibited at the opening of the fragment of the Berlin Wall in the European Square.
