The prosecution believes that a severe penalty should be applied for such an act," stated Prosecutor Natia Tatiashvili to journalists regarding the case of Zurab Girchi Japaridze, a leader of the "Coalition for Change."

The National Security Council may be abolished as of September 1, 2025. The government has submitted a corresponding legislative proposal to the Parliament.

"Even if Bidzina Ivanishvili announces new elections tomorrow, I believe we should not participate in such elections. Our goal is not just to hold new elections but to ensure fair elections that the public can trust," Akaki Bobokhidze, a leader of "European Georgia," stated on PalitraNews’ program "Day’s Newsroom."

The verdict in the case of Zurab Girchi Japaridze, a leader of the "Coalition for Change," will be announced on June 23.
