NATO vessels enter Batumi port

NATO vessels enter Batumi port Vessel REGELE FERDINAND and NATO vessel sailing under the flag of Turkey have entered the territorial waters of Georgia. Two more vessels sailing under the flag of different member countries of the Alliance will also enter the Batumi port today.

The visit is hosted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Embassy of Bulgaria in Georgia.

According to the Ministry, the delegation is headed by Deputy Commander of the United Nations Marine Forces (MARCOM), Vice-Admiral Yrvi Blejon, who will meet with Minister of Internal Affairs Giorgi Mghebrishvili.

Members of the delegation will also visit the Maritime Operations Joint Management Center, after which a press conference will be held, which will be attended by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia, the Deputy Chief of NATO Navy Forces, the Deputy Head of the NATO Liaison Office in Georgia.

According to the Ministry, the Allied Maritime Command (MARCOM) ships will remain in the Batumi port until November 6 and participate in various joint exercises organized by the Georgian side.
