Georgian film director Zaza Urushadze has been chosen as a member of the U.S. Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The director has released this information via social net. “I have officially become one of the Academy members,” - he has posted on his Facebook page.
The U.S. Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has more than 6000 members. Each member has a right to vote. They determine which films, actors, directors or screenwriters are to be nominated for the Oscar awards.
The latest film directed by Zaza Urushadze was nominated for the Oscars 2014.
Zaza Urushadze has been the head of Georgian cinematographers’ union for already several years. He is 53 years old.
