Father and son fallen for Georgia’s territorial integrity buried with military honor Father and son, Vakhtang and Badri Gzirishvili were buried at the yard of Vakhtang Gorgasali church with full military honor.

Georgia’s Defense Minister Levan Izoria paid tribute to the heroes and offered condolences to their family members.

‘We would like to express special gratitude to the Gzirishvili family and to the father and son who have sacrificed their lives for Georgia’s territorial integrity in 1992 and 2008,’ Levan Izoria said.

The hero of 2008 August War Corporal Vakhtang Gzirishvili served in the 42nd battalion of the fourth infantry brigade. His father Badri Gzirishvili was killed in Abkhazian war in 1992.
