More than 6.4 million international travelers arrived in Georgia in ten months According to the data of 10 months of 2017, the number of international travelers exceeded 6.4 million, head of the National Tourism Administration Giorgi Chogovadze said at the press conference today.

According to the data of January-October of 2017, 6 430 824 international travelers visited Georgia, which is 1 016 180 more than the number of travelers in the same period of previous year (growth + 18.8%)

The Ministry of Internal Affairs provided the abovementioned data to the Tourism Administration of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development.

According to Chogovadze, the largest number of visitors arrived from Azerbaijan (+ 10.8%), Armenia (+ 15.8%), Russia (+ 33.3%), Turkey (-4.1%) and Iran (+ 122.8%).

The positive trend of growth has been maintained from the EU countries – the UK 40%, Austria + 36.8%, the Netherlands + 34.6%, France + 30.4% and Germany + 29.1%.

“According to the data of the second quarter of 2017, income from foreign tourism amounted to 658.7 million dollars (growth + 27.8%), which is 143 million more than in the previous year," Chogovadze said.
