Interpresnews obtains letter written on behalf of missing soldier to his family Interpresnews has obtained a letter written on behalf of one of the soldiers who went missing during trainings in the Black Sea in August 2016.

Three people have been detained on the charge of extorting money from soldier Giorgi Nanetashvili's family, but according to the expertise, only one of the detainees was writing letters to the family.

In the letter, the detainee said that he spent other person’s 39 thousand dollars and urgently needed the money. In addition, he wrote he could not come back to Georgia, as he would die here, and asked the family members to keep the letter secret.

The letter was received by the family in a few months after the soldiers went missing. The fraud case was opened in April 2017 as a result of the joint investigation of the Ministry of Defense and the Prosecutor's Office and law enforcers charged three. At this time, the case is being considered by Tbilisi City Court.
