Eka Gigauri : "Murusidze-Chinchaladze clan” gives instructions to the Parliament

"Murusidze-Chinchaladze clan” gives instructions to the Parliament of Georgia and is ready to seize the Supreme Court, - Eka Gigauri, Executive Director of Transparency International Georgia, told reporters after the meeting with the former Chairperson of the Parliament’s Legal Issues Committee Eka Beselia.

As Gigauri pointed out, the "Chinchaladze-Murusudze clan", people who have been involved in making illegal decisions for years and allegedly participated in a criminal offense, must leave the judicial system.

“Today we discuss the fourth wave of the court reform and we were involved in the discussion of each of these waves. However, we see that all regulations were useless because we still have a clan in the judiciary and this clan is managed by Chinchaladze and Murusidze. Although our legislation was enhanced, this "clan" was becoming stronger and stronger, and in fact, this "clan" gives instructions to the Parliament of Georgia and is ready to seize the Supreme Court. Under these conditions, it is obvious that the main way out is “Murusidze-Chinchaladze clan”, the people who have been involved in the making illegal decisions for years and allegedly participated in a criminal offense, to leave the judicial system. Consequently, these people can not do anything good for our judiciary,” Eka Gigauri said adding that if these persons stay in the judiciary, the court will not gain a high confidence of the society.

The Executive Director of Transparency International Georgia speaks about necessity of public activity to pressure those politicians, who make these people powerful and “there are such people in Parliament, too and we know their names.”

“The judicial system is managed by the “clan” and this “clan” must leave,” Eka Gigauri said.
