Davit Sergeenko: Blood Bank is trying to use the recent accident for its own marketing, to attract free donors

I will let the public assess the fact when the Blood Bank is trying to use the recent accident for its own marketing, to attract free donors and later commercially sell the blood; and all this is happening on the mourning day, - Health Minister Davit Sergeenko said on Imedi TV in response to the Blood Bank’s statement on the blood supply deficit in the country.

According to the Minister of Health, eight patients were served in clinics on the day of tragedy and the minimal amount of blood was used as a result.

"The Code of Public Service does not give me the right to assess the fact, but I will let the public assess the fact when the Blood Bank is trying to use the recent accident for its own marketing, to attract free donors and later commercially sell the blood and all this is happening on the mourning day, when a lot of people offered assistance to the victims of the tragedy free of any profit”, the Minister said.
