Pre-trial detention ordered for KazTransGas Tbilisi employees in connection with Didi Dighomi explosion

Pre-trial detention has been ordered for Tornike Tatishvili and Vazel Mamadian, former employees of KazTransGas Tbilisi who were arrested in connection with the explosion that occurred in the Didi Dighomi district of Tbilisi.

City Court Judge Vakhtang Mrelashvili announced the mentioned decision.

The prosecution had been demanding the use of the measure of pre-trial detention against the defendants, while the defense had been demanding release of the detainees on bail.

Tatishvili and Mamadani were officially charged on January 19. The pre-trial session will be held on March 14.

Four people were killed as a result of an explosion caused by gas leakage in a block of flats on January 16.
