Lithuanian FM welcomes Georgian President’s visit to Brussels

It’s fine that the President of Georgia is arriving in Brussels, - Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkevičius told reporters before the meeting of Foreign Ministers in Brussels.

“This visit demonstrates that it is important for Georgia. Georgia is an advanced state in terms of reforms, which is a very important status. I always say that it was difficult to be an advanced state and the status should be approved by the reforms. We know that the situation is not easy because of the occupation of South Ossetia and Abkhazia, there is borderization and regardless of it, Georgia should continue its reforms. The government and the new president must prove it by concrete actions on the grounds. We expect it from Georgia, "he said.

President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili will pay her first official visit on January 21. Within the visit, Salome Zurabishvili will hold high-level meetings with the EU and NATO officials. The visit of the President of Georgia will end on January 23.
