Georgian consulate in Italy addresses citizens of Georgia planning to travel to Italy

Georgian consulate in Italy addresses those citizens of Georgia who are going to travel to Italy. The statement has been posted on the Facebook page of the Embassy of Georgia to Italy.

According to the statement, the Government of Italy has recently toughened a border control and amid this fact a number of the citizens of Georgia were not allowed to enter the territory of Italy because they did not have required documents.

“Georgian consulate in Italy as well as the consulates of other foreign countries does not have any legal leverage to intervene in the competence of the border guard in case of the absence of legally required documents and to change his/her decision to allow any citizen to enter the Italian territory. We remind all citizens of Georgia who are going to travel to the Italian Republic to have all the documents required within a visa-free regime, "the statement reads.
