PM Mamuka Bakhtadze: Our historic roots and our future  is European

Georgia is a gateway for eight land-locked countries in a very important region that will become a main power of economic growth for the whole Eurasian continent,- Georgia’s Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze said during his speech at the Eurasia in a New Global Context held within the World Economic Forum in Davos.

The Prime Minister emphasized the potential of Georgia to become a regional hub for business, transport and logistics.

"I believe deeply that the economic prospects of the region will be very clear. If we look at the map, of course, Georgia is a “natural candidate” to become the center of business, transport and logistics sectors. That is why we are making large infrastructure investments. We see ourselves as a bridge from Europe to Asia. Our historical roots are European and our future is also European but, at the same time, Georgia is located at the crossroads of civilizations. Therefore, we consider ourselves as a bridge, "the Prime Minister said.

Mamuka Bakhtadze emphasized that Georgia is the only country in the region that has a free trade agreement with both the EU and China.
