Gali population rally protesting closure of Enguri Bridge crossing-point

The population of Gali district of occupied Abkhazia region held a protest rally outside the Administrative building on Wednesday. The locals expressed their protest against the closure of Enguri Bridge crossing-point.

De-facto security service of occupied Abkhazia has closed so-called “border” with Georgia for two month due to “swine flu” fears.

Up to 80 people gathered outside the Administrative building of Gali district. De-facto head of the administration, Temur Nadaraia, told the protesters that they “the border was closed to prevent the spread of “swine flu” in Abkhazia.

Only people, who are employed in the energy sector and people with a serious illness, who are provided with treatment in the territory controlled by the government of Georgia, can cross so-called border.
