My first foreign trip to Brussels is another demonstration on how important our links with NATO are, - President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili said at the meeting with NATO Secretary General in Brussels on January 23.
The President of Georgia underlined hat this is the choice of not only her, but of the Georgian nationa, population as well. “It remains a top foreign policy priority,” she said.
Zurabishvili also noted that Georgia has proved that it is a very reliable and a capable partner for NATO.
“Georgia is really trying to be a model partner for NATO and we are also taking note of the increased professionalism and dedication of our military servicemen and thanks also to the operations that we are contributing to because that is two way road: we are contributing… but we are getting also quite a lot in exchange,” Zurabishvili said.
The President thanked Jens Stoltenberg and NATO for their support for Georgia.
“Also is very important the support that we received to the territory integrity, to the sovereignty of Georgia at the time when we have two territories, which are occupied. The occupation line, which is a constant reminder of very tense situation, when there is a constant pressure on the population that is leaving close to this occupation line,” Salome Zurabishvili said.
