Eka Beselia says Ivanishvili did not give any ultimatum to anyone personally

There has been a proposal for everyone to end debates in the public space, - Eka Beselia, former Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on Legal Issues, told journalists in response to a question of whether Bidzina Ivanishvili made several proposals to Gedevan Popkhadze with regard to the departure/stay in the party.

According to Beselia, it was a legitimate demand of the chairman of the party. However, she said she could not but talk to the public about the issue of justice, since the topic was of high interest.

"There has not been any ultimatum. The conversation touched upon common rules and vision. It is very natural when the chairman of the party says that party members should hold debates inside the team. It is an absolutely legitimate desire and correct position. There has been a proposal for everyone to end debates in the public space. I agree with this, but we should think about whether this is possible at this stage, when the issue of judiciary went beyond the party's internal debate and became an issue of high interest for all citizens. We are thinking about this. I personally cannot but speak to my people about this very important issue," Beselia said.
