Expert says Irakli Kvaratskhelia's body had been examined before being transferred to Georgian-controlled territory

Irakli Kvaratskhelia had strangulated groom in his neck area, which indicates the use of a rope, wire or any other similar thing, - expert Irakli Toidze said at the press conference.

According to him, Kvaratskhelia's body had been examined before being transferred to the territory controlled by Georgia. He added that the investigative authorities should answer a question of whether the injuries on Kvaratskhelia's body were the result of suicide or murder.

According to the expert, the final report will be published after they receive laboratory examination results and general analysis are made, which may take about a month.

The expert said he could not see any sign of the use of electric shock on Irakli Kvaratskhelia’s body.

"As for the injuries, they body had laready been examined before being transferred to the territory controlled by Georgia. The primary examination was probably carried out in Sokhumi and we did the second autopsy”, the expert said.

Irakli Kvaratskheli died in unclear circumstances at the Nabakevi military base of Gali district on March 12.
