Irakli Kvaratskhkelia’s death is yet another tragic reminder of the hardships that are imposed on people on both sides of the dividing lines as a consequence of the conflicts and of the Russian military presence, - EU Ambassador to Georgia Carl Hartzell said.

The Ambassador expressed his condolences to the family of Irakli Kvaratskhkelia

“While the European Union welcomes the speedy handover of his body, it is important now for the Russian Federation to provide all necessary evidence to Georgian authorities regarding the circumstances of his death.

Mr Kvaratskhkelia’s death is yet another tragic reminder of the hardships that are imposed on people on both sides of the dividing lines as a consequence of the conflicts and of the Russian military presence”, reads the statement.
