4 Georgian members of criminal group arrested in Greece

Members of a criminal group of made up of Georgian citizens have been arrested in Greece, including the so-called "thief-in-law".

The arrest was the result of international police cooperation between the Georgian Police Attaché and the Greek Police.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, 4 members of the group were arrested on March 14.

“The fight against international organized crime is one of the main priorities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia. For this purpose, Georgian law enforcers are actively cooperating with foreign colleagues.

Within the framework of international police cooperation, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia has conducted 20 large-scale operations together with French, Greek, Spanish and Polish law enforcers in EU member states since 2018. As a result, 141 citizens of Georgia, including 10 thieves-in-law, have been detained’, reads the statement of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
