13 prisoners go on hunger strike in Georgian prisons

A total of 13 prisoners go on hunger strike in various prisons of Georgia, - Minister of Justice Tea Tsulukiani said while reporting before the lawmakers within the "Minister's Hour" in the Parliament.

“13 prisoners go on hunger strike. As of August 1 data, there were a total of 9 986 prisoners in the system, including 8 343, who were serving their sentence, and 1 643 convicts. According to the current data, there are 9 870 prisoners and 1937 – convicts. The number of convicts has been grown, but the number of prisoners has not been increased.
