PM: Regrettably, misinformation and propaganda continue around Anaklia Port

There is no case around "TBC". “TBC Bank” and the National Bank have made a joint statement and this case and problem are over, - Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze said during his Facebook live today.

One of the "Facebook" users asked the Prime Minister why the implementation of Anaklia project is delaying and why “TBC Bank” was attacked.

“We make wrong emphasis, there is no cases around “TBC”. “TBC Bank” and the National Bank have made a joint statement and this case and problem are over. The case and the investigation is underway into other transaction, where physical persons may be involved. This is a very cheap attempt of some media outlets to link everything with “TBC”. “TBC Bank” is the most powerful financial institute in Georgia. It has strong institutional investors and it has a particular role in our economy. Its sustainability faces no threat,” PM Bakhtadze said.

The Prime Minister talked about the project of Anaklia Port. He said Georgia and the entire region need Anaklia's deep-water port and the country will definitely have it.

“Regrettably, misinformation and propaganda continue around Anaklia Port. The idea of Anaklia port emerged in our political team and it’s a strategic part of our economy to turn Georgia into the region’s transport and logistical hub. Georgia and the entire region need Anaklia's deep-water port and Georgia will definitely have it,” PM Mamuka Bakhtadze said.
