Money transfers from abroad to Georgia increased by 4,5 % in March

The volume of money transfers from abroad amounted to USD 138.4 million (GEL 371.4 million) in March, 4.5 percent (5.9 million USD) more compared to the same period of the last year, the National Bank of Georgia (NBG) said.

93.6 percent of the total money transfers from abroad came from 17 largest donor countries, with the volume of transfers from these countries each exceeding 1 million USD in March 2019. In March 2018 the share of these 17 countries was 93.0 percent of the total volume.

According to the NBG, in March 2019, 18.5 million USD (or 49.7 million GEL) was transferred from Georgia, 2.5 million less compared to the same period of 2018.
