The Minister said it’s of utmost importance for the “Georgian Dream” government to overcome this problem.

“Our biggest challenge is to overcome poverty. according to various estimations, 800 thousand people live in poverty, do not have an adequate standard of living, housing and it would be challenging for any government, especially for our government, as social orientation is one of the main priorities that is announced in our governmental strategy, "said Natia Turnava.

The Minister explained that the economic growth is the path that will help the country to overcome poverty. Natia Turnava noted that Georgia leads with fastest GDP growth in the region.

“Acceleration of economic growth is the way that can help to overcome poverty faster, but I would say that we have a very dynamic economic growth and this is not my assessment, it is an assessment of international organizations. If we look at the whole region, we have twice as high GDP growth as our neighbors have, "said the Minister.
