De-facto Abkhazia to elect “president” on August 26

So-called opposition and de-facto government of occupied Abkhazia have agreed that so-called presidential elections will be held on August 26.

The elections were scheduled for July 21, but de-facto president Raul Khajimba initiated to change the election date following yesterday’s mass protest rallies.

So -called opposition demanded postponement of the election until October due to worsening of the health condition of their leader Aslan Bzhania, who is an unambiguous favorite of the upcoming elections.

Last week, Aslan Bzhania was taken to a hospital due to a deteriorating health condition. Representatives of so-called opposition argued that Bzhania was poisoned, however doctors denied the version of poisoning.
