University suspends lecture who is accused of sexual harassment by student

The lecturer of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, who was accused of a sexual harassment by a student of the same university, has been suspended.

According to the University Administration, the fact will be studied by the Ethic Council of the University after the student appeals to BSU.

“We have talked with the lecturer and he agrees to be suspended until the situation is cleared up. We will study the fact and act within the law,” the BSU administration says.

The student of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University accuses the lecture of the same university of a sexual harassment. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia has launched an investigation under Article 150 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, involving coercion.
