PM: Those who criticize agriculture, either do not have relevant information or are simply busy with cheap political populism

Agriculture has prospects in Georgia. Those who criticize this field, either do not have relevant information or are simply busy with cheap political populism, - Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze said at the meeting with young farmers of the Georgian Farmers Association.

The Prime Minister talked about the steps taken in the direction of agriculture in recent years and noted that this field should go forward.

"I deeply believe that by cooperating with the private sector, it is possible the government to plan effective reforms. Otherwise, we will not get what we want and it is of principle importance to me that entrepreneurship be encouraged in young people. I have a feeling that everyone is busy with cursing agriculture, which I think is the result of the lack of right analysis," the Prime Minister said.

According to the PM, "Georgia’s inherited philosophy of agriculture, when the citizens involved in agriculture use products for personal purposes, has no future. The success formula is when farmers sell their products and get income. Georgia’s agriculture has prospects. Whoever criticizes the sector does not have any relevant information or is simply busy with cheap political populism. I'm sure that this field will definitely play a role in the development of our national economy", - said the Prime Minister.
