According to him, the Anaklia project is needed for Georgia, the region, the full realization of the transit potential of the country, and therefore, the project is very important.

"As for Anaklia port, here are two main issues. The first is that it has a strategic importance and hence it must be necessary built and the second is that it must be built as soon as possible. Therefore, we are guided by these two principles. Naturally, no replacement of the investor is being considered, this issue is within the consortium and we support the consortium to mobilize the financial resources to fulfil their obligations, which is necessary for the timely construction of the port. We have invested a lot of time, energy and money in this project and of course, we cannot afford that the project be delayed for a long time.
