Omar Makharadze, has resigned as the Chairman of the Legal and Procedural Issues Commission of Batumi City Council and Georgian Dream - Industrialists Faction, after being accused of sexual harassment by his student.

"I have made a decision to leave the position until the the establishment of the truth. I hope the relevant authorities will establish the truth, because the moral side of this case is of utmost importance to me," Omar Makharadze said.

The Batumi City Council will decode whether to satisfy Makharadze’s application or not at the nearest session.
