Lawyer says President Zelensky sends own board to take 10 Ukrainian children to their homeland

Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky has sent his own board to Tbilisi to return 10 Ukrainian children to Ukraine, Zurab Todua, lawyer of Yulia Suslyak who arrived in Georgia with ten children on April 8 and was arrested for child trafficking, told InterPressNews.

The Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia has ruled to transfer the children, taken to Georgia by Yulia Suslyak, to Ukraine.

As the Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement on Thursday, Ukrainian side has expressed its readiness to take responsibility for the children’s guardianship and pledged to provide them with all necessary conditions.

Ukrainian national Yulia Suslyak arrived in Georgia with ten children on April 8 and was arrested for child trafficking. The woman arrived with ten children from Russia and planned to take them to the occupied territory of Abkhazia.

The lawyer claims that according to the forensic expert report, four minors are the biologic children of Yulia Suslyak while the other six belong to his husband - Yuri Suslyak and they born through surrogacy.

Yulia Suslyak faces 14 to 17 years in jail.
