The European Union does not recognize the constitutional and legal framework in which these so-called ‘elections’ will take place on 9 June in the Georgian breakaway region of South Ossetia, Maja Kocijancic, EU Spokesperson for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, said related to so-called “elections” that are underway in occupied Tskhinvali region today.
InterPressNews was informed by the European Union Monitoring Mission, that the EU Union supports the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia, as recognized by international law.

In view of the reports about the so-called 'elections' that are to take place on 9 June in the Georgian breakaway region of South Ossetia, we recall that the European Union does not recognize the constitutional and legal framework in which these so-called ‘elections’ will take place,” Maja Kocijancic said.
So-called elections are underway in occupied Tskhinvali region. According to local media, a total of 77 polling stations, including one in Russia, one – in occupied Abkhazia, were opened for the "elections".
