Georgia is a leader in preparing for EU standards; there may be membership in the future, why not? - Polish Foreign Minister Jacek Czaputowicz said at an international conference dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Eastern Partnership in Batumi.
He spoke about the Georgia-EU relations and noted that Poland supports the Eastern Partnership countries. He also answered a question about the current situation in Georgia and noted that Poland is informed of it and it is welcome that future parliamentary elections will be proportional in Georgia.
"We are aware of the political processes in Georgia with respect to Russia. I think Putin made a firm message. As for us, we support Georgia as a sovereign country and we will support its pro-European policy. Of course, we are interested in political and internal debates of Georgia. And we are satisfied that this is a pretty peaceful process”, the polish Minister said.
He also answered a journalist's question about the anti-occupation rally, saying that it is not desirable to meddle in the domestic affairs of another country.
