Lawyer says Yulia Susliak abducted by police

Lawyer of Yulia Susliak, the citizen of Ukraine who was detained in Georgia for child trafficking and was later released from prison, says that his client has been abducted by law enforcement officers.

Zurab Todua told InterPressNews that he has not had any information about Yulia Susliak for the last two hours.

“Susliak intended to meet me today, since I am going to hold a briefing tomorrow at 13:00 to enable Yulia Susliak to provide details what happened and how happened, who violated her rights during the three months and about the stress and the physiological pressure she has experienced during the three months. In order to prevent her doing this, under the direct instruction of the prosecutors of General Prosecutor’s Office, police officers together with civilians abducted Yulia Susliak from the 5 th carriage of Baku-Tbilisi train from 08:30 -09:00 am period of time today. I do not know her whereabouts. Her mobile phone has been turned off. The Interior Ministry and the Prosecutor’s Office do not confirm the information. We are dealing with the illegal abdication abduction of a person without any legal basis,” Zurab Todua said.
