Gigi Ugulava, one of the leaders of European Georgia, has responded to the statement of Gia Volski, a member of the Georgian Dream, on the social network.
"Ivanishvili, Volski and the Georgian Dream government in general have made Georgians living in Russia hostages of the Kremlin. In fact, Volski today "urged" Russia to use the Georgians living there as a mechanism of pressure against Georgia. According to this logic, Georgia should do nothing.
In addition, he is lying, since the vast majority of Georgians living in Russia after 2006 are Russian citizens, so they cannot be expelled. This “invitation” of Russia by Volski is a response to the draft resolution of European Georgia, according to which, Georgia should return to the West-Russia political agenda”, Gigi Ugulava said.
The comments comes hours after Gia Volski responded to the European Georgia initiative, saying that the Georgian parliament would not support the initiative to punish hundreds of thousands of our citizens living outside Georgia. According to him, adoption of the resolution of the European Georgia will result in reciprocal sanctions from Russia.
