Contrary to what has been reported by several media, the United Nations Office in Georgia has not suspended Ms. Nino Sukhishvili as a National Goodwill Ambassador for Sustainable Development Goals, the UN Office in Georgia said in a statement on Sunday.

“The UN expects of all goodwill ambassadors to adhere to their commitment to the 2030 Agenda and to the declared goal of leaving nobody behind.

The United Nations Office in Georgia remains grateful to Nino Sukhishvili and our two other National Goodwill Ambassadors for Sustainable Development Goals for their support of our work, much of which has since 2017 focused on promoting the seventeen Sustainable Development Goals.

The voluntary services and support of renowned Georgian figures as National Goodwill Ambassadors are temporary and are subject to rotation,” the statement reads.
