Clash occurred between members of European Georgia and Georgian Dream parties after  Archil Talakvadze’s office was padlocked in Ozurgeti

Members of the European Georgia party and the civil activists padlocked bureau office of Archil Talakvadze, Parliament’s Speaker and majoritarian MP of Ozurgeti municipality.

The protesters say police officers and the ruling Georgian Dream activists arrived at the office and clashed with them.

“Police officers, State Security Service employees and the Georgian Dream activists did not allow us to padlock the office. We had a confrontation with the activists of the Georgian Dream. They attacked us, but we confirmed that we were peaceful activists. We padlocked the office and told them that the government must fulfil its promises and the elections must be held through the proportional system,” Mikeil Gogotishvili, the chairman of the Ozurgeti regional office of the opposition European Georgia party, told InterPressNews.

The party and its activists plan to padlock the bureau offices of other majoritarian lawmakers, including of Mamuka Mdinaradze in Tbilisi, Merab Qvaraia - in Zugdidi, Ioseb Makrakhadze – in Gori, Dimitry Khindadze – in Mtskheta and Dimitry Mkheidze – in Kutaisi.
