Ambassador of Israel to Georgia Ran Gidor hopes that Georgia and Israel will reach an agreement on the legal employment of Georgian citizens in Israel.

Ran Gidor told InterPressNews that the issue of legal employment is one of the topical issues in the bilateral relations of the two countries.

"Now, the President of Georgia, Mrs. Salome Zurabishvili, is visiting Israel and this is one of the issues she is discussing with our leaders. Both sides are working on it. There is a visa-free regime between our countries, which is a very important step in reaching an agreement that will allow Georgian citizens to be employed in Israel. We are actively working for it, ”says Ran Gidor.

When asked about the difficulties that hamper the agreement on the issue of the legal employment, the Ambassador noted that Israel is a small country and subsumption of job seekers is necessary.

“We have a lot of people from different countries, from China, India, Russia, Ukraine, Georgia and even from Africa, who arrive here to work. Israel is much smaller than Georgia and we cannot employ everyone. Accordingly, we must categorize and prioritize the job seekers. Taking the friendship between Georgia and Israel into consideration, we hope that we will reach an agreement on the legal employment, ”the Ambassador said.
