Irakli Gharibashvili’s candidacy is not being considered in any of the majoritarian constituencies, - InterPressNews was told in the Ministry of Defense.

Accordingly, the reports spread by separate media outlets that the Minister of Defense may be a majoritarian candidate of one of the districts of Kakheti were called a deliberate lie by the Ministry.

"We want to make it clear to the public that this information is a deliberate lie and that Irakli Gharibashvili’s candidacy is not being considered in any of the majoritarian constituencies. The priority of the Minister of Defense is the ambitious reforms and modernization plan launched in the Defense Forces and the Minister is fully focused on their successful implementation," the Ministry of Defense told InterPressNews.
