National Center for Disease Control offers Armenia to test their citizens for coronavirus at Lugar lab, or to supply them with 10,000 PCR tests

The National Center for Disease Control is offering Armenia to test their citizens for coronavirus at the Lugar lab. The Center is ready to give the neighboring country 10,000 PCR tests.

Amiran Gamkrelidze, Head of the National Center for Disease Control, told InterPressNews that Georgia can conduct 500 to 1,000 PCR tests a day for Armenia.

"As far as I know, a telephone conversation should take place between the Ministers of Health of Armenia and Georgia today, and the details of the assistance to Armenia will be clarified there. I can tell you on behalf of the Center for Disease Control that we can test citizens of Armenia for coronavirus at the Lugar lab. Georgia can conduct 500 to 1,000 PCR tests a day for Armenia. Another option is to give them about 10,000 PCR tests,” Gamkrelidze said.

As of June 11, 14,669 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed and 245 patients have died from the virus in Armenia.
