Kelly Degnan: The United States is a very proud partner of Georgia, we are very pleased that the constitutional amendments were passed

The United States is a very proud partner of Georgia as it has been going through the democratic evolution in the last few decades, the Ambassador of the United States to Georgia Kelly Degnan said.

According to the Ambassador, the United States was always playing the complementary role to what Georgia was doing. “The US has been a development partner, security partner, neutral arbiter or advocate. We can be in these roles only we have Georgia’s support and coordination,” said he Ambassador.

According to the Ambassador, the U.S. engagement and assistance to Georgia reflects not only our common values and shared interests, but it also reflects how Georgia is committed to hard work.

“Obviously, the United States is deeply committed to helping Georgia achieve its goal of having strong democracy. We believe that democracy is what stimulates the economic development, prosperity and brings stability to any country and it is particularly important for a country in the region like this. The level of the U.S. engagement and assistance to Georgia reflects not only our common values and shared interests, but it also reflects how Georgia is committed to hard work and it think it is the reason why so many international partners want to see Georgia succeed.
