Commissioner for Economy: EU faces deeper recession than expected

The eurozone economy will contract by 8.7% in 2020 and grow by 6.1% in 2021, reported the Commissioner Gentiloni.

"The eurozone economy will face a deeper recession than expected. Overall, the economy will shrink by 8.7% in 2020 and grow by 6.1% in 2021", - said the Commissioner.

For the record, in May, the Commission had predicted a decrease by 7.7% for 2020 and a growth of 6.3% next year.
