US Ambassador says cases of intimidation and violence are concerning ahead of elections

The US Ambassador to Georgia, Kelly Degnan, expressed concerned about the violent facts that the opposition members are talking about ahead of the elections.

According to her, such facts will harm the forthcoming elections.

"Yesterday I read the report of the Public Defender, which spoke about cases of intimidation and violence. Of course, cases of intimidation are very disturbing, not to mention violence. This is an action that will definitely harm the forthcoming elections in Georgia.

It is good that there are election observers in Georgia who are carefully observing the process and analyzing it accordingly. We will also have our own monitoring teams, which will further enhance the efforts of the observers. We are doing our best to help Georgia make these elections free, transparent and fair," Degnan said.

She called on political parties to promote fair and good elections. “Please do it for the good of Georgia," Kelly Degnan said.
