Gigi Ugulava: We thank our international partners for their involvement, but we are not going to enter the parliament

"The way out of the crisis is to end the vicious 30-year-old circle and to move to a qualitatively new level by holding elections," said Gigi Ugulava, one of the leaders of European Georgia, told reporters before the meeting of the united opposition in the Lelo office.

According to him, despite the calls of international partners, they refuse to enter the parliament.

"Our international partners agree on the main issue that the elections were rigged. Of course, there are calls from them - even though the elections were rigged and there was a promise from the government to rectify the elections, they still tell us that we should consider entering the parliament. Our answer is no! We are not going to enter the parliament, but we thank our partners, including in the part where they see a systemic problem like us, but we firmly believe that the way out of the crisis is not to close a blind eye, but to end the vicious 30-year-old circle and to move to a qualitatively new level by holding elections. We thank our partners for their involvement, and look forward to the third round if the government comes up with a sensible proposal, but our firm position is that in such a situation it is impossible for the opposition to participate in the parliament," Ugulava said.
